Here is the early documentation of the mysterious Pyle. The following data resulted in the discovery of a new species of creature. Any biology majors interested in studying the Pyle can use the following data as part of their research. Just remember to give me credit for it. And money. Or just money. Or maybe a credit card?

Day 1 (1/20)
Length:
72'' (6 feet)
Comments: On the first day back from school, the pyle is born! And what a pyle it is! We will be monitoring it during its infancy stages.

Day 2 (1/21)
Length:
64'' (5 feet, 4 inches)
Comments: The pyle seems to be going into remission. The creator of the floor-spawn is aware of the attempt to document the growth of his pyle, and in doing so has attempted to keep the pyle within acceptable boundaries. Time will tell how long the pyle will stay there before it fully matures in size. God help us all.

Day 3 (1/22)
Length:
47'' (3 feet, 11 inches)
Comments: In a fascinating display of man vs. nature, the pyle curled itself up into a condensed form of varying colors and textures. It is currently contained in its natural habitat away from the other occupants of the room. We will remain safe, but for how long?

Day 4 (1/23)
Length:
50'' (4 feet, 2 inches)
Comments: The pyle currently lays dormant, possibly either sleeping or waiting for the proper moment to strike. Although it has not grown outside of its boundaries, the pyle continues to grow in height.

Day 5 (1/24)
Length:
65.5'' (5 feet, 5.5 inches)
Comments: The pyle has stretched its way towards the center of the room and past the desk perimeter. It's only a matter of time before the pyle consumes its creator. While we should intervene in such a case, it is important to let nature take its own course.

Day 6 (1/25)
Length:
70'' (5 feet, 10 inches)
Comments: The pyle is beginning to grow in height. It seems to sense that it's becoming too exposed and has curled up into itself.

Day 7 (1/26)
Length:
65'' (5 feet, 5 inches)
Comments: The pyle has broken past the upper boundary of the perimeter and is moving towards the back wall. As it stretches along the side of the bed, we wonder if it's simply trying to find more space, or planning a hostile takeover of kyle's area.

Day 8 (1/27)
Length:
58'' (4 feet, 10 inches)
Comments: A large, unidentified mass has appeared on top of Kyle's bed. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be clothing. This comes contrary to original speculation that the large mass was actually Kyle.

Day 9 (1/28)
Length:
62'' (5 feet, 2 inches)
Comments: The pyle has forced its way underground. Seismic readings tell us it is currently located somewhere underneath the bed. An expedition party is being assembled to try and document the pyle's descent.

Day 10 (1/29)
Length:
60.5'' (5 feet, 0.5 inches)
Comments: Kyle's clothing hamper, previously holding back the upper boundary of the pyle, suddenly dissapeared today. We don't know if it was stolen or simply decided to leave. It will surely be missed.

Day 11 (1/30)
Length:
58'' (4 feet, 10 inches)
Comments: The pyle is slowly increasing in density due to the dissapearance of the clothing hamper. One theory is that it was part of an elaborate plan created by the pyle to create more space. It does make you wonder. Who could the pyle have paid off to take the clothing hamper? And more importantly, is the pyle capable of handling money and talking to people? A possible experiment in the future...

Day 12 (1/31)
Length:
62'' (5 feet, 2 inches)
Comments: The pyle has grown to such a height that it impedes measurement. We must include part of the height of the pyle since it has grown past the height of the bed. In the future, we will test the stability of this new structure and try to determine when it may collapse under its own weight. The room is now officially a "hard-hat" area. Watch your step!

-Side note: At 4:05 PM, I may have spotted actual movement from the pyle! The very top of the pyle seemed to have swayed for a few seconds, then suddenly stopped. A trick of the light, or first contact?
